The lake covers around 2,400 acres and is known for its clear waters and scenic surroundings. It’s part of the Rathbun Lake Recreation Area, which includes parks, trails, and various amenities for visitors.
Fishing is a big draw here, with species like walleye, bass, crappie, and bluegill populating the lake. There's also the Rathbun Lake Dam, which helps control the flow of water into the Chariton River.
