Lake Red Rock is the largest lake in Iowa, located in Marion County, just south of Pella. It’s a popular spot for outdoor activities like boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. The lake was created by the construction of the Red Rock Dam on the Des Moines River, which was completed in the 1960s. It has around 15 miles of shoreline and offers some great opportunities for wildlife viewing as well, especially around the area’s wildlife management areas.
