  • OUR STORY
  • Black Elk Peak Print

Located in South Dakota's Black Hills, Black Elk Peak is the highest natural point in the state, standing at 7,242 feet, and is considered the highest summit in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains.

It's also a popular hiking destination, particularly sacred to the Lakota people due to its significant role in the visions of Lakota holy man, Black Elk, after whom the peak was renamed, previously known as Harney Peak.
